1) Is there any particular reason you use a five string bass,

Hugh, I would just like to say I enjoy your playing. I saw you in Greenville
SC
and it was the best I have herd a bass sound live in a long time. It is very

Hey Hugh! At first I really wanna say that I LOVE your music
and I just bought the 3 Bon Jovi Albums that were missing in
my collection (Slippery when wet, Keep the Faith and These
Days). Then I have to say my english is not that good because
I'm from Germany. Now to my first question: Have you still got
that golden "S"-Neckless alec gave to you? and then i heard
rumors about the number of guitars richie has. maybe you can
tell me a number..? And then I'd like to know what you think
of squier-guitars, cause I have one, I like it and many say its not
that good... I hope I didnt waste your time with these stupid questions.

Hey there Huey. I just wanted to drop you some lines to say thank you
for some new inspiration. See I´m a bass player from sweden and
I
have played
for a long time now, many years ago my bassinspiration
was
Gene Simmons
(for the attitude) and John Pattitucci and Billy
Sheehan ( for technique) but lately I´ve found it hard to find some
inspiration
(still like Simmons attitude a little). But a few years
ago
now I went to a Bon Jovi concert, mostly because of my wife wanted
to, and there
you were blaying tight as hell not missing a note that i
could tell.
So my playing took a turn to tight and groovy thanks to
you and that style suits me great so now I make a living out of my
bassplaying and for that, thanks man!! An additional bonus is that
you use Swedish ampstoo, EBS how cool are they?? Like to add a
little
question, where do you find inspiration to moitvate you to pick
up
your bass day after day?? Sorry for my spelling, my english is a
